The Center for Glacial Geology of the H.M. Abdullayev Institute of Geology and Geophysics has received a modern SOUTH Galaxy G7 GNSS device as part of the GEF-UNDP-UNESCO project “Strengthening resilience of Central Asian countries through regional cooperation in glacier assessment.”

📡 This high-precision device plays a crucial role in monitoring glaciers and mountain geodynamic processes, as well as in conducting topographical and geophysical measurements.

🔬 By implementing new technologies, the institute’s specialists aim to increase the accuracy and effectiveness of scientific research, as well as achieve results that meet international standards.

🤝 Such initiatives within the framework of cooperation with GEF-UNDP-UNESCO are an important step towards studying climate change and ensuring sustainable development in the Central Asian region.

🤝 Meeting with representatives of the China Uranium Corporation

A meeting with representatives of the Geology and Technology Company of the China Uranium Corporation was held at the H.M. Abdullayev Institute of Geology and Geophysics.

During the meeting, the parties discussed developing cooperation in geological exploration, mineral research, and processing technologies.

A scientific and practical seminar-training was organized at the H.M. Abdullayev Institute of Geology and Geophysics by the faculty members of the Department of General Geology from the University of Geological Sciences – M.Sh. Moyliyev, E.M. Amirov, and O.E. Bakhtiyarov.
