📢 Entrance exams for basic doctoral studies have concluded

Entrance exams for the basic doctoral program for 2026 admission at the H.M. Abdullaev Institute of Geology and Geophysics were conducted according to the established procedure.

Examinations were organized in the following specialties:
🔹 04.00.01 – General and Regional Geology
🔹 04.00.02 – Geology, exploration and prospecting of solid mineral deposits. Metallogeny and geochemistry
🔹 04.00.03 – Geotectonics and Geodynamics. Petrology and lithology
🔹 04.00.06 – Geophysics. Geophysical methods of mineral exploration
🔹 04.00.08 – Mineralogy. Crystallography

🧑 🔬 During the examination process, applicants’ theoretical knowledge, scientific thinking skills, practical preparation, and potential for conducting research in their chosen field were evaluated.

📌 The exams were conducted transparently, impartially, and in accordance with established requirements, with the participation of specialists from the relevant laboratories and departments of the institute.

🎯 Competition events held as part of “Anti-Corruption Month”

A series of competitive events were organized at the H.M. Abdullaev Institute of Geology and Geophysics as part of December 9 – International Anti-Corruption Day and the “Anti-Corruption Month” held in November-December.

At the events, outstanding employees were recognized in several categories. These include:
“Zakovat” intellectual competition – Regional Geophysics Laboratory;
“Best Wall Newspaper” –
Glacial Geology Center;
“Best Article” – Atabaeva Feruza Ravshanovna;
“Best Poem” – Saitov Nuriddin Erkin ugli.

🖋 The purpose of the event is to foster an environment of intolerance towards corruption, strengthen the sense of honesty and responsibility among employees, as well as reinforce a management culture based on transparency and the rule of law within the institute’s team.

Scientists of Uzbekistan in the international scientific arena

Scientists of the H.M. Abdullayev Institute of Geology and Geophysics are actively participating in international scientific events in relevant areas of geological science.

F.B. Karimova, head of the Petrology Laboratory, and D.I. Jumaniyozov, a research scientist of the institute, participated in the All-Russian Scientific Council titled “Paleozoic of Russia: Problems of Regional Stratigraphy and Interregional Correlation” held at the A.P. Karpinsky Russian Geological Research Institute (VSEGEI) located in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation.

Within the framework of the event, a meeting was held with the leadership of the Karpinsky Institute, where issues of establishing cooperation between the two institutions on research work, international grants, new methods, and scientific seminars were discussed.

At the same time, at the international scientific conference “The 3rd International Conference on Advanced Coating and Thin Film Technology – ACTF 2025,” held on November 6-9, 2025, in the city of Taizhou, People’s Republic of China, the Deputy Director for Research and Innovation of the Institute, Khalmatov Rustam Abdukhatovich, made a presentation on the topic “Some Aspects of Changes in the Microstructure of Steels Depending on the Content of Rare Earth Metals.”

In these scientific presentations, special attention was paid to the issues of enhancing the international scientific potential of geological science in Uzbekistan, mastering advanced experiences, and implementing new technologies in practice.
