Dear colleagues, esteemed teachers, and young scientists!
On the occasion of the upcoming New Year 2026, I extend my sincere congratulations to you and the entire staff of our institute.
As we reflect on the past year, 2025 has been a remarkably productive year for the Institute of Geology and Geophysics named after Kh.M. Abdullaev, marked by significant responsibilities and important scientific achievements. Thanks to the dedicated efforts, scientific potential, and cohesion of our team, we have made substantial progress in all areas of the institute’s activities.
Specifically, throughout the year, 50 projects were implemented (including 10 within state programs, 7 grants, 30 economic contracts, and 3 international projects), with a total financial volume of over 35 billion sums. This year, 6 projects aimed at expanding the mineral resource base were successfully completed, and 7 new projects were approved. In the field of geology, promising areas were identified based on modern scientific and methodological approaches. Geophysical and geochemical research led to the creation of new databases, catalogs, and thematic maps. Our scientific research has been reinforced by practical results.
To enhance the institute’s material and technical base and ensure convenience in fieldwork, 4 cars (FOTON Tunland 7) pickup trucks were purchased.
Scientists of the Institute have published significant scientific works at international and national levels, including articles in 12 Scopus-indexed journals, and have participated in international conferences. Based on an innovative approach, for the first time in Uzbekistan, “Catalog of Standard Rock Samples of Uzbekistan” was published and a mobile application was developed, based on more than 1,200 samples. Additionally, “Catalog of Glaciers of the Republic of Uzbekistan” was published. Furthermore, the creation of copyrighted scientific developments, databases, and innovative products demonstrates the stable development of the institute’s scientific school.
Moreover, during the past year, special attention was paid to enhancing the personnel potential of our institute. Specifically, our employees obtained 4 language certificates (B1, B2), 2 Artificial Intelligence (AI) certificates, 4 “KOICA GIS Analysis” certificates, and actively participated in 31 professional development courses. These achievements clearly reflect the pursuit of knowledge, continuous self-improvement, and consistent implementation of modern scientific approaches in our institute.
Significant steps have also been taken in the area of international cooperation. Connections with leading foreign scientific centers have been expanded, and joint projects, internships, and seminars have been organized. Effective scientific and practical cooperation was carried out with research centers in Russia, China, Mongolia, Korea, Italy, Finland, Turkey, Macedonia, and CIS countries, and memorandums of understanding were signed. This contributes to our institute securing a worthy position in the international scientific arena.
Dear colleagues!
All achievements are, first and foremost, the result of human capital, that is, your knowledge, experience, and responsible work. In particular, the trust placed in young scientists and researchers working at our institute, supporting them, and further improving the scientific environment will remain one of our future priorities.
The goals set for the coming year are ambitious: increasing the effectiveness of scientific research, implementing innovative developments, further deepening international cooperation, and most importantly – strengthening a healthy, open, and reliable work environment in our institute. I believe that we can achieve these goals only through unity, mutual respect, and a spirit of teamwork.
Dear colleagues!
I sincerely congratulate you on the upcoming New Year 2026.
During the passing year, responsible and effective work has been carried out to develop our field, strengthen the integration of science and production, and implement important strategic tasks. The achieved results have laid a solid foundation for future high achievements.
May the New Year bring to all of us good health, peace and tranquility, new achievements in our dedicated work, and the opportunity to successfully fulfill responsible tasks.
Happy New Year!
With best wishes, N. Inatov – Director of Institute of Geology and Geophysics named after Kh.M. Abdullaev
