Throughout the week, the H.M. Abdullayev Institute of Geology and Geophysics hosted a series of international scientific seminars and training sessions featuring renowned foreign geologists.

🔹 Professor Luca Pandolfini from the University of Pisa (Italy) delivered a lecture titled:
“The record of frontal tectonic erosion in a fossil accretionary wedge: evidences from the Paleocene deposits of the Internal Ligurian Unit, Northern Apennine, Italy,”
presenting his research on tectonic erosion structures and stratigraphy in ancient geological formations.

🔹 Professor Dr. Kim Sahng-Yup (Republic of Korea) led a seminar-training session on:
“Current Issues in Geology and Mining,”
covering exploration methods, mine development, modern technological approaches, and environmental sustainability.

📚 Researchers, young scientists, and geology students actively participated in the events, gaining insights into international trends and best practices in geology and mining.

🌍 These seminars marked a valuable step toward strengthening international scientific cooperation and enhancing the research capacity of the institute.
